We are pleased to let you know that Humble Surgical Hospital has prevailed on all counts in the case filed against it by CIGNA Life Insurance Company in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Houston with the opinion issued by Federal Judge Kenneth Hoyt today.
Judge Hoyt dismissed all claims made by CIGNA and found no evidence of any improver billing for care and services by the hospital. Judge Hoyt also ordered CIGNA to pay over $14 million to Humble Surgical Hospital.
We are pleased with the court’s support of Humble Surgical Hospital’s operations and practices, the rights of patients to use their out-of-network benefits and ultimately the proper treatment of healthcare providers across the nation.
